Designed by Indy Blue Studio, the lounge brings the warmth and simplicity of Danish interiors into the airport, creating a welcoming place to relax, work and spend time before departure.
The project
The refurbishment of Aviator’s Danske Bank-sponsored lounge offered an opportunity to rethink both its atmosphere and its everyday use. Indy Blue Studio’s design brings these priorities together, giving the interior a distinct identity while responding to the needs of passengers and lounge operations.
Reopened in January 2025, the lounge provides a renewed setting for airport hospitality, with areas dedicated to relaxation, productivity and conversation.
The design
Danish design provides the foundation for the interior, combining simplicity, functionality and carefully considered furniture. Pieces from Muuto, Andersen Furniture, +Halle and Vitra sit alongside custom furniture and locally sourced artwork, connecting the space to Copenhagen’s design culture.
The different seating settings give guests a choice of how to spend their time. Together, they create an atmosphere that feels comfortable and approachable, with room for both social interaction and quieter moments.
The passenger experience
The buffet was repositioned to improve circulation and make refreshments easier to access during busy periods. Enclosed office pods offer privacy for calls and focused work, while additional power outlets help passengers stay connected.
These practical changes support the wider design: a lounge where guests can move comfortably between dining, working and relaxing, with the character of Copenhagen remaining part of the journey.
