Developed for a private client, this concept explores how passenger comfort, spatial organisation and a distinctive interior identity can come together within an airport lounge. The proposal brings a hospitality perspective to the terminal environment, considering both the guest experience and the practical requirements of lounge operations.

The project

An airport lounge accommodates passengers with different priorities and different amounts of time before departure. Some need a place to work, while others want to enjoy refreshments, spend time with travelling companions or simply rest.

The concept considers these needs within a shared environment. Zoning and circulation provide the foundation for the design, establishing a clear relationship between guest areas and the functions that support them.

The design approach

The interior is conceived as a coherent whole, connecting the organisation of space with its visual character. The approach balances opportunities for social interaction with a greater sense of privacy, allowing different activities to coexist comfortably.

Clear routes through the lounge help make the space easy to understand and use. Alongside this practical framework, the design explores how a consistent interior identity can create a welcoming atmosphere within the constraints of an airport setting.

Interior design and 3D visualisation bring these considerations together, allowing the proposed spaces and their relationships to be explored during concept development.

The passenger experience

The ambition is to make the time before departure feel more comfortable and more personal. A lounge should give passengers a choice of how to spend their stay, with spaces that are easy to navigate and suited to different travel routines.

This concept brings that ambition into the design process from the outset, considering comfort, hospitality and operational functionality as connected parts of the same experience.
