Interior design of the Menzies Pearl Lounge at Bratislava Airport (BTS).
Designed by Indy Blue Studio, the Pearl Lounge introduces a contemporary hospitality experience to Bratislava’s M. R. Štefánik Airport, bringing together passenger comfort and the practical demands of a compact airport lounge.
The project
Opened in June 2025, the lounge marks Pearl’s first presence in Slovakia and is among the first locations to introduce the brand’s new design direction.
Located in the departures terminal, the project brings the Pearl experience to a 187 m² space accommodating up to 63 guests. Its compact footprint makes the relationship between seating, circulation and service areas particularly important.
The design
The interior is organised around distinct settings for dining, working and relaxing. This arrangement gives passengers a choice of environments within a limited area, balancing shared spaces with a quieter zone.
The design brings these different activities together within a coherent interior, expressing Pearl’s contemporary identity while keeping everyday comfort and functionality at the centre of the experience.
The passenger experience
A lounge area, buffet and dedicated dining space provide places to enjoy refreshments or spend time with travelling companions. Workstations and complimentary Wi-Fi support passengers who need to stay connected, while the quiet zone offers an opportunity to unwind before departure.
The result is an intimate lounge that accommodates different travel routines, making the time before boarding more comfortable for both business and leisure passengers.
